INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES AT SAMPRA DEVELOPMENT FUND
The SAMPRA Development Fund has internship opportunities for two (2) graduates who wants to develop skills and experience in the South African music industry. The successful interns will be placed at Universal Music Africa in Rosebank, Gauteng and must have completed qualifications in Marketing or related fields with an accredited institution. The successful candidates will get full exposure in the running of a record company. The core exposure areas are:
- Radio & DJ Sampling: Service new music to radio stations upon release and re-service songs showing growth potential.
- Music video Servicing: Distribute music videos weekly to music channels via the Ci platform.
- Reports: Update radio spins, chart positions, and compile weekly reports for international label partners.
- Media lists: Monitor Caster for bounce backs, update contacts, and identify new media platforms for content distribution.
- African media lists: Research, expand, and maintain African media contacts, adding verified details to Caster and Dot Digital.
- Weekly newsletter: Compile a Content Capsule featuring news updates from international label partners.
- Ad Hoc: Create marketing assets via Canva, assist with internal events, launches and promotional activities as needed.
The following are key requirements for any prospective intern:
- A completed qualification in the field of study mentioned above,
- No work experience,
- Proof of qualification (certified copy of transcript and/or qualification),
- Should be close or a driving distance to Rosebank,
- A South African,
- Above average communication skills,
- Time management skills, and
- Passionate about music and have a positive energy.
All interns will be required to attend company events (some might include Saturdays or evenings).

The successful candidate will get full exposure in the running of a record company. The core exposure areas are:
- Finding avenues to help promote the company’s music,
- Sending out press releases and press blasts to media,
- Cold calling potential media houses to promote the company’s music,
- Include/Invite media to all Universal Music events,
- Calling Radio Stations, and
- Requesting for artist interviews.
